Memory Reconsolidation

Recent neuro-scientific research led to the discovery that your underlying fears and learnings aren't fixed as once thought.  Up until this evidence, it was believed that new learnings would simply overwrite old learnings, rendering original neuropathways redundant but still existing.  This new discovery led to therapeutic techniques that completely re-wrote neural pathways and synapses permanently in a process call memory reconsolidation.  Memory reconsolidation is a natural healing process and as such can often happen spontaneously upon discovery of conflicting beliefs or may need some additional therapeutic help to occur.

The brain is made up of different parts and systems.  Our deepest learning are held in the limbic system, which holds no logic or rationale as the learning takes place at a purely emotional level, beyond even language.

Therapies which work at a conscious, rational level such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), or beliefs work, are dealing with issues within the logical, rational, language part of the brain; the neo cortex.  These therapies can be incredibly effective but for issues that are rooted at a deeper level,  memory reconsolidation can have a very profound effect.

Therapies that work at this deep level include coherence therapy, dynamic psychotherapy, hypnoanalysis, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR).

In most cases, symptoms are generated and maintained by  a combination of cognitive factors and implicit learnings and the most efficient and effective plan for thorough, long lasting results will be discussed at your intital consultation.
